Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo is unhurt after crashing his Ferrari in a tunnel near Manchester Airport at 10:20 a.m. local time time.

Ronaldo, 23, was on his way to practice when the horrific accident occurred. "Officers attended and discovered a Ferrari had collided with a barrier, according to a statement by Greater Manchester Police. "No one is believed to have been injured."

According to unconfirmed reports, Ronaldo's Manchester United teammate Edwin van der Sar was driving the car behind Cristiano when the horrific crash occurred. The Portuguese star was able to get out of his mangled car and showed no sign of injury.

Witnesses say Ronaldo's Ferrari is a "mangled wreck," with police confirming it was damaged beyond repair. A witness told a London newspaper that Ronaldo was just at the side of the road looking bewildered. Says one eyewitness: "It's amazing he was okay because his car looked so bad!"
